I was lucky for this shooting and chance to shoot with 3 models. Kara, Yasmin & Tanya was with me for this shooting. Mostly trying to find from my friends but sometimes get help from model agencies.
Istanbul is full of contrasts and colorful views from all around the city. These contrasts are even more evident from various terraces.
When I'm shooting in Istanbul, I am trying to discover different places and locations for photography. One of my friends mentioned this terrace, and I decided to try my luck capturing its unique atmosphere. Istanbul never ceases to surprise, and this terrace was no exception.
Situated in Karaköy, surrounded by the ancient and cosmopolitan city, the terrace offered an amazing view of the city and was adorned with old, colorful churches. These Russian churches boast impressive architecture in the heart of Karaköy, hidden from the streets. The terrace I shot was once part of an old church. Unfortunately, over time, it underwent renovation and now consists of rooms and a spacious terrace
Now, let's come to the shooting process.
Prior to capturing moments, I focus on organizing essential details to enhance the overall quality and prepare for the day of shooting. Naturally, one of the key considerations is the location. The location for this shootnig is Karaköy Teras which is in the hearth of the Karaköy districts and easy to find. Styling
Generally before the shooting trying to find some customs from designer, from friends and sometimes buying them. This time I brought some of my clothes and also wanted from girls bring some of their clothes so we handeled them easily.
We spent nearly five hours that day—approximately one hour for preparation and makeup, and the remaining four hours dedicated to the actual photo shoot. I utilized both the terrace and various rooms for shooting, particularly for beauty shots. For these specific captures, we were indoors. Here are some of the results.
